Are TV Markets ranked, and if so, how?
Yes. TV Markets are ranked in order by the number of households with televisions.

How does a TV Market differ from a Metropolitan Statistical Area or MSA?
MSA markets cover a smaller area than TV Markets.

The United States government divides the country into what it refers to as 'statistical areas,' each of which is referred to as an MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area). Each MSA includes a metropolitan city and the surrounding suburban areas as defined by the government.
